Hunger Games!

We are planning to meet this weekend to discuss The Hunger Games. I have already placed the sequel, Catching Fire, on hold at the library. Kevin also read this book in 6 hours on a road trip. Can't wait to talk about it AND I cant wait til 2012 to see the movie. Only one person has been cast so far, but it will be fun to see who they choose for all the other characters!

Water for Elephants

We are now reading Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen ...I will hold my comments until everyone has finish, except for one: the soon to be released movie made for easy and VERY pleasant visualization of the main character.

Girl With a Dragon Tattoo

In general I don't think a lot of us enjoyed this book as much as we thought we would....Maybe my expectations were too high. The movie, however, I very much enjoyed and i am very much looking forward to the Hollywood remake.

The Road: Current Reading??

I am looking forward to our next book "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy. The day of the decision I went to a used book store - rather, a warehouse of a used book store - in Knoxville called McKay's. This place is super giant and it took me a while to find the book (I am positive they have never heard of alphabetical order nor the library systems of decimals) but I eventually found it for a great price.

So, I've had the book for about a week sitting on my bedside table but I haven't started it....why you may ask? Well, while at the used book warehouse store, I found the next three books in the Sookie Stackhouse novels (reference the "Book We've Read" list). I mean, these book were in great condition an way cheaper than I could have gotten on Amazon! I have been reading the heck out of them.... Sad for "The Road" but way happy for me....no worries I will finish the book before the next meeting :)

Currently Reading

Our next book to read will be The Road by Cormac McCarthy. I went to pick up the book at Border with a coupon and I knew exactly what book I needed to pick up. This was to be an in and out ordeal. I walk in and went straight to the computer to type in the book title. There happened to be a sales guy there and he asked what if I needed help. I told him which book I was looking for, and before I finished the word "Road" he was already leading me across the store. He shows me the book, and I had the option of choosing the movie tie-in cover or the regular cover. I chose the regular cover since they were the same price and thanked they guy for his help. As I was walking away, he says, "It's okay, its not his best book"

Really?? You're going to say that to a customer who is about to purchase a book from your store?

Lame. Looking forward to reading this book!
